Vertical Rain Farms is a family-owned indoor farm built on our family’s Manitoba farmland.
We’re combining generations of agricultural roots with modern vertical hydroponic technology to grow fresh, local food year-round, even when it’s -30°C outside.

Meet Jena & Marty
Vertical Rain Farms is being built by siblings Jena and Marty Jakubowski on the Manitoba farm their family has called home for generations.
We grew up around agriculture, hard work and the reality of producing food on the Prairies. Our paths eventually took us into the trades and other industries, but they also gave us the skills and experience to come home and build something new.
Now we're combining those roots with modern indoor growing technology to create a different kind of family farm, one designed to produce fresh local food throughout the Manitoba winter and for generations to come.
Jena Jakubowski
Co-Founder & Director
Jena is a journeyperson pipefitter with experience in construction, carpentry, finance and entrepreneurship. She leads the planning, business development and day to day direction of Vertical Rain Farms, bringing together the practical and business sides of building the farm from the ground up.
Marty Jakubowski
Co-Founder
Marty brings years of hands on experience across pipelines, cattle, concrete, framing and heavy industry. His practical skills and agricultural background play an important role in building and operating the infrastructure behind Vertical Rain Farms.
This isn't a corporate farm that happened to land in Manitoba. It's two siblings building something new on the farm that helped raise them.
